Plastic bottle? That is « so 2010’s ».
73, that is the number of single-use plastic bottles used every year by a European. Among these commercialized bottles, a large portion is part of the top 10 most collected trash on beaches during Ocean initiatives. What if we all went for reusable water bottles in 2020? In stainless steel, glass, decorated with drawings or quotes: there is something to suit all tastes. We could even dream that reusable water bottles become the must-have accessory of this new decade. So why not? In addition to its ecologic interest, it allows you to save some money. Tap water is 100 to 300 times less expensive than bottled water.
Tote bag: the new handbag
Easy to fold and carry: shopping bag or tote-bag seems to have become the next fashion item of the last few years. Resistant and trendy: it easily replaces a plastic bag. But that’s not the only alternative: kraft paper bags are valuable and often displayed in fruits & vegetables sections. The added benefit? They are reusable and most of all recyclable.

Goodbye Sponge, Hello Tawashi
Tawashi, a cute name straight from Japan, for a tool as cute as it sounds. This new kind of sponge, that can easily be made at home, is destined to replace disposable sponges. More resistant, they are washable, making them perfect zero waste items. To make them, nothing is easier. Salvage some old fabrics and that’s all there is to it. Tee-shirt version, dish towel version, tights version: nothing is too fancy for your tawashi. In addition, it is economical as it allows you to save about 12€ per year. And because we have thought about everything, here is a tutorial on how to make your own.
