The Garonne Caravan will be casting off in Bordeaux starting on april 29th
Join the Garonne Caravan for the launch of its new 2017 edition!
Get on board for an actual awareness event on aquatic wastes and their impact on the environment. This educational program, implemented by Surfrider, presents an opportunity for a citizen action on pollution affecting rivers and ocean biodiversity via conferences, concerts, cultural visits and many other educational activities.

Awareness day, with a waste collection in the tidal basins on April 29th, starting at 10:30 a.m.
With a paddle, in a canoe, on a paddle board or by foot, join our waste collection to clean up tidal basins. The day will be organized around a “zero waste” picnic and workshops on waste repurposing. In the evening, Surfrider will occupy the IBOAT bridge for a Boat-Happy Hour “let's head to the ocean. “, the program will include: SURF ART exhibit and concert.
Meeting place: IBOAT, Tidal basin n°1, Quai Armand Lalande, Bordeaux.
Event open to all, organusez in collaboration with IBOAT, les Marins de la Lune, and Waterlife community who provides crafts (canoe, kayak and Stand up Paddle boards).
« Waste and Biodiversity: what are the solutions? » conference: April 30th starting at 10:30 a.m., gathering association stakeholders and environment professionals for a roundtable presenting various existing alternatives on the Garonne river basin. Meet at the parvis and inside the Maison Ecocitoyenne, Quai Richelieu, 33000 Bordeaux.
Event open to all, in collaboration with the Maison Ecocitoyenne and Bordeaux Métropole.

May 7th, Awareness day in protected wetlands
Come onboard the ship « Coeur d'estuaire » headed for Ile Nouvelle for a 2.5km hike. The guided tour of the Garonne estuary and around the old village will present this protected natural zone's environmental heritage which includes a 265 acre reservation.
Meeting place: Blaye pier (Nautical halt), May 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. By reservation, 65 free tickets available at www.coeurdestuaire.com

Saturday and Sunday: Awareness and educational events for Nature Day.
Surrounded by swamps, facing the estuary Terre d'oiseaux will welcome you for Nature Day. Come
discover the cultural wealth of this bird sanctuary located in Braud-et-Saint- Louis, on the Garonne banks. Over the course of the tides, Surfrider will host , with the National Federation for fisheries and conservation of aquatic environment in Gironde (FDAAPPMA) , educational activities on Saturday May 20th, starting at 2 p.m. Between waste collections(departure every 30 mns.), free tours of the site will be available.
